Whether you’re a Buddy the Elf or an Ebenezer Scrooge, the Las Vegas Christmas season is upon us and we can all agree that everything gets a whole lot merrier when someone spikes the egg nog. This is Vegas, Baby - the place where we bend the universe to our will. Need snow to get you in the holiday spirit? No problem. Want to go ice skating and look at all the twinkly lights? We’ve got you. ARIA'S WINTER WONDERLAND DISPLAY
If holiday sweets are your favorite part of the season, you'll want to head over to the Aria resort and take a look at their new Winter Wonderland display that features a massive, custom-designed Sugar Palace. This candied castle creation is constructed from over 4,000 pounds of sugar, with the final product weighing in at about one ton. The exhibit also has plenty of tasty treats and warm beverages that you can enjoy in their decked out socially distanced seating area. Hours are from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
THE ICE RINK
ETHEL M CHOCOLATE FACTORY
The rest of the country may have their bristly Douglas Firs, but in Vegas we just gotta work with what we’ve got. And that happens to be cactus. Every inch of the three-acre cactus garden at Ethel M Chocolate Factory is covered in glittery goodness, and it's enough to make Clark Griswold weep. More than half a million lights, animated reindeer and holiday décor cover the desert grounds that features more than 300 types of cactus including spotted aloe, agave plants, Texas prickly pears and yuccas. But the best part is that these non-traditional Christmas lights in Las Vegas are free to experience. Oh, and just a heads up, the lights turn on at dusk and don't get shut down until 10 p.m.
THE HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE AT THE PARK
You can’t avoid the holidays in Las Vegas, even if you tried, Scrooge. The Holiday Experience at The Park brings the best of the holidays to the Strip. Every Friday – Sunday in December, and a few select dates in between, carolers will be strolling up and down The Park from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Follow them to Toshiba Plaza and you’ll be greeted by pop-up dining experiences that offer holiday treats like mulled wine, German sausages and waffles on a stick. There’s also a chance you’ll run into more live entertainment once you’re there. And since it’s a Las Vegas Christmas, you never know who’ll show up and put on a live show.
GLITTERING LIGHTS
Have you ever wondered what the state’s largest drive-thru light show looks like? One word: massive. A lot of visitors come to see the three million lights and 170 lighted trees at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Glittering Lights even takes things up a notch with a live nativity. The 2.5-mile course hosts a lot of vehicles during the holiday season and is open until January 6.
AREA15 WANDERLAND
Area15 brings the jolly holidays into a new psychedelic universe with their first winter spectacular. This offbeat event space has two different experiences to enjoy. The first explores a tree-lined village that meanders through a path of igloos decked out in festive vignettes as well as an intergalactic art sleigh for photos, specialty pop-up retailers, and plenty of food and beverage options to enjoy on their outdoor patio.
The other artistic wonder is a 30-minute sound and light exhibition that takes viewers on a journey across the globe to celebrate the themes of the holiday. Area15's Wanderland will be available to enjoy from Nov. 27th-Jan. 3rd, and you can purchase tickets on their website.
RED ROCK RESORT'S MERRY CRIMSON
